How long does it take to fall in love? If we’re talking about Rome, then four days was all we needed.
Short post today, but I wanted to share a few shots of our day in the Vatican and also our final night in Rome, where I returned to the Trevi Fountain, aka where it all began.
This was my favorite room in all of the Vatican museum, the Gallery of Maps. It features 40 maps of sixteenth-century Italy, and each one gives a different perspective/highlights a different region.
Somehow I was convinced to climb to the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica. I can say now that the view from the top was more than worth it, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t panic when I remembered that I had forgotten my inhaler at the apartment. It was everything I wanted in a lower body workout, and much more.
Later that night, we found our way to the Trevi Fountain, popped a bottle of Prosecco, and threw coins over our left shoulders. Don’t worry Roma… We’ll be back soon!
