Lately, I’ve been feeling off and I realized it was because I was no longer prioritizing things that I love outside of work, including exercising and experimenting with make-up. It’s easy to let that part of yourself go because “Ah, I’m too busy!” or “The office is already pretty empty, no one will notice”, [insert any other excuse here]. But this week I challenged myself to not only to try doing fun looks everyday, but use products that I haven’t touched in a while, if ever.
My make-up spending has also gotten out of hand, so I figured that this would be a great way to get more familiar with all of my beauty products so that I know exactly what I have and won’t be tempted by all of the new releases because I’ll be able to say with confidence “Oh I have something that’s 95% similar, I don’t need this.”
Also, I’m apologizing in advance for the lack of photos. I didn’t go into the week thinking that I would blog about it. I posted about my looks daily to my Instagram Story and got a ton of great feedback so I thought it’d be fun to document it here, with the products I used for those that are curious!
Mondays are for Monochrome Looks

Started this week off with a bang (but a small one) with a monochromatic orange look! I got a lot of compliments and love it paired with a light denim top
Eyes: Born to Run palette, (“Baja” in outer crease/corner, “Accelerate” on lid)
Tuesday = Mood Boosting Eyeliners
Woke up on Tuesday, having overslept and missed an early workout class which put me in a terrible mood, and not the best way to start your day. I thought that a teal eyeliner would lift my spirits, and it actually did. For the look, I used a teal shimmer eyeshadow from the Huda Beauty Sapphire Obsessions palette, and applied it like an eyeliner.
Wednesday and All That Glitters

This is quickly becoming my favorite go-to nude palette, and on Wednesday I decided to spice up a neutral every day look, with some glitter.
Eyes: the ColourPop Calfornia Love palette (“” and “” in transition/outer crease, “” and “” in the inner corner area, “Surfrider” on the lid, “El Capitan” on the center of the lid)
Lips: Colourpop Ultra Blotted Lip in “Doozy” with Colourpop Kae lipliner liner
Thursday, Keeping it Simple
I really wanted to wear a berry lip color this day, so I decided to do a daytime gold/bronze smokey eye to pair with my favorite purple lipstick, Colourpop’s Ultra Blotted in “Split”
For the eyes: Natasha Denona Gold Palette, “Teak” as transition/crease color “Log” in the outer corner, “Sand Stone” on lid. Colourpop Super Shock Shadow “Lightning Bug” on the center lid

Fridays are for Hot Girl Summers & Yellow

I woke up to news that San Francisco would be experiencing a “heat wave” over the weekend, and to a Georgia girl that’s music to my ears. Heat waves in SF mean 80-90 degree weather, so I felt like it was a sign to give a work appropriate hot girl summer look featuring yellow.
On Friday morning I googled “yellow eyeshadow that’s work appropriate” and got absolutely no relevant results, so I had to figure it out on my own. I decided to pair the yellow with a brown lipstick with yellow undertones to balance it out.
Eyes – Huda Beauty Neon Obsessions Palette in Orange (yellow/marigold shade) all over lid, Violet Voss The Rainbow Palette (Buttercup) on the center Lid, Natasha Denona Gold Palette (Teak) to diffuse outer crease
Lips – ColourPop Kae Liner and ColourPop Kae Liquid Lipstick
